A New Framework for AI-Assisted Appreciation of Creative Work
Coached anAIysis (pronounced an-AI-ysis) is a coined term describing the use of artificial intelligence to analyze and illuminate creative work — guided and coached by the artist themselves.
Unlike generic AI art criticism, coached anAIysis is artist-directed. The creator shapes how the AI understands their work, providing context, intention, and meaning that might otherwise remain invisible to an audience. The result is a richer, more intimate form of appreciation — one where the gap between what an artist means and what an audience receives begins to close.
Why it matters
Creative work has always suffered from a communication gap. Artists know what they intended; audiences experience what they can. Coached anAIysis offers a new bridge — not by replacing the mystery of art, but by allowing artists to offer guided entry points into their work on their own terms.
This is not AI generating art. It is AI in service of the artist-audience relationship.
The word itself
The term embeds AI visually within analysis — anAIysis — making the method legible in the name. It is deliberately coined to mark a distinct practice, separable from broader discussions of AI in art.
